Columbia Land Clearing is hiring across MetroWest MA, Southeastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod, and Rhode Island. If you're an experienced operator, a hard-working laborer ready to learn, or a veteran looking for a stable trade — we'd like to talk.
We pay above market for skilled operators because skilled operators are worth it. We invest in good equipment because bad equipment kills productivity and morale. And we treat our crew like adults — clear scopes, clear schedules, no surprise weekends.
If you've worked at a place where the owner micromanages you, where pay raises depend on guessing right, or where the trucks break down constantly — that's not how we run things.
We're a veteran-owned company. We hire civilians too — but if you've served, you'll find a culture that already speaks your language.
Competitive hourly rates plus performance bonuses for project completion. Paid weekly. We benchmark to top-quartile contractor pay in the Boston metro.
Tracked forestry mulchers, well-maintained trucks, and the right tools for the job. We don't hand you broken kit and ask you to make it work.
Four-day workweeks are the target — Monday through Thursday on the equipment. We never trust the weatherman and deal with whatever the week brings as it comes. We don't work Sundays.
Monthly contribution toward individual health coverage of your choice — pick what works for your family. Vacation accrues with tenure: 5 days in year one, 10 days from year two, 15 days from year five. Eligible after a 90-day introductory period.
Operator training, equipment certifications, and a clear path from laborer to operator to crew lead. We promote from within first.
VA benefits coordination and a culture built around mission-focused work. We hire civilians equally — but we know what you bring.
Don't see a perfect fit? Send us a resume anyway — we hire when we meet the right person, not just when we post a role.
Run our tracked forestry mulcher on residential and commercial projects across eastern Massachusetts. You'll be the primary operator on most jobs, working alongside a laborer and crew lead.
Entry point into the company with a clear path to operator. You'll handle ground work, site prep, debris management, and assist the operator. We'll train you on the equipment.
Lead a 2–3 person crew on multi-day projects. You'll handle on-site project management, customer communication during the job, scope adherence, and quality control. Senior operator skills required.
We're always interested in talking to good operators, mechanics, and tradespeople — even when we don't have an active opening. If you bring real skills and a strong work ethic, get in touch and we'll keep you in mind as we grow.
